TimLock

TimLock is a password protection program for the Risc PC, A7000 and A7000+, when the computer is switched on it can not be used without entering a correct password. It is no longer maintained, and therefore I have put it in the public domain.

• Automated installation and uninstallation
• MD5 Password Encyrption (may be changed to something better in future versions)
• Support for multiple Passwords
• A system variable is set indevtifying the password entered, allowing different actions to be taken depending on the password entered.
• A default action can be set if no password is entered (eg. Boot ARM Linux or NetBSD/arm32)
• Optional time delay before default action

The following hardware is recommend:

• A Risc PC, A7000 or A7000+ (I don't know about RS7500, Mico, Imago or anything later)
• A pair of pliers (I can't move the configuration protection connector without them)
• A Padlock or similar (To lock the computers case shut)

TimLock can not be bypassed by using the the shift key as although the desktop is reached, the keyboard or mouse can not be used. This is achieved by using two techniques only possible on Risc PC or later computers, namely unpluging the keyboard and mouse drivers, and preventing configuration resets by using the configuration protection connector.
